Satellite events, organized by physics organizations and departments outside of the U.S., uniquely combine local, in-person activities with virtual engagement from the APS Global Physics Summit so physicists have the opportunity to participate in the meeting without having to travel to Atlanta, Georgia.
Attending the local APS Global Physics Summit satellite event was a pivotal experience that directly shaped my studies, research interests, and career trajectory.

Satellite events that you may participate in can include:
- Group viewings of live-streamed virtual and recorded, on-demand sessions from the Global Physics Summit

Satellite events can range from a several-day meeting where participants are bused to a local university to watch scientific sessions to a more modest event that includes a local speaker and networking event. In some cases, satellite events may also offer an opportunity to present research to a global audience without having to travel to the U.S., while still enjoying the community aspect of an in-person event.
