APS Global Physics Summit Atlanta, GA, and online, April 11-16, 2027

Industry at Summit

Hear from speakers across a wide range of technical and entrepreneurial fields, meet new collaborators, and explore the exciting work by physicists in non-academic fields

Attendees wearing lanyards gather to watch a speaker whose arm is extended as if presenting.

Industry at Summit offers unique programming that focuses on industrial and applied physics research and careers.

Discover new methods for gathering information about the world, advances in how we organize and utilize data, frontiers in energy, and innovations that impact technologies from self-driving cars to aerospace.

Industry events and programming

See where physics meets industry with cutting-edge research, real-world applications, and meaningful connections.

Industry rooms

The industry-focused session rooms at the APS Global Physics Summit are a dedicated space that enhances engagement between academia and industry. It will offer career development opportunities for students and early-career professionals and a platform for companies to showcase innovations in physics-related industries. The session rooms will be a hub for industry-focused content, including division showcases, sponsor presentations, and career-focused workshops. Sessions will be featured in one of four tracks:

Career Exploration and Workforce Development

Career pathways, professional skills, workforce trends, talent development, and opportunities for physicists across industries.

New and Emerging Technologies

Innovative applications of physics, applied research, product development, and technologies shaping industry and society.

Entrepreneurship and Commercialization

Technology transfer, customer discovery, startup development, funding, intellectual property, and innovation within established organizations.

Industry–Academic Collaboration

Partnerships among industry, academia, government, and national laboratories that advance research, address shared challenges, and strengthen the physics workforce.

The full schedule will be available in February.
