Events for undergraduate students
Future of Physics Days (FPD) are special events and experiences for over 950 undergrads who will attend the APS Global Physics Summit. As a student, you will present your research, learn about graduate school and career options, and connect with the scientific community at one of the largest physics conferences in the world.
Undergrad events
You can look forward to on-site events tailored specifically for the ultimate undergrad experience:
- Undergrad Student Get-Together
Sunday, March 16, 3-4 p.m.
Network and mingle with fellow undergraduate attendees. This event is co-hosted by APS and the Society of Physics Students (SPS). - Undergraduate Research Sessions
Monday, March 17-Tuesday, March 18, various times
All presenting students receive a certificate of presentation and written feedback from trained mentors and are eligible for a prize as a top presenter. - Networking Workshop for Undergraduates
Monday, March 17, 6-7:30 p.m.
Brush up on your networking skills and develop an elevator pitch so you can build connections at the conference. Light refreshments will be served. - Graduate School Fair Reception
Monday, March 17, 7:30-8:45 p.m.
Network with recruiters from graduate programs while enjoying delicious sweet treats! - Undergraduate Poster Session
Tuesday, March 18, 2-5 p.m.
All presenting undergraduates receive a certificate of presentation, written feedback from trained mentors, and are eligible for a prize as a top presenter. - Grad School Fair and Undergrad Lounge
Tuesday, March 18, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Have a cup of coffee and relax in between sessions. This space is for undergrads only. The lounge is co-located with the Graduate School Fair where you can chat with representatives from graduate programs looking to recruit undergrads.
All undergraduate students will also receive special swag at the grad fair: a bento box! - Undergraduate Breakfast, Career Workshop, and Awards
Wednesday, March 19, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
The event recognizes all students who presented in the Undergraduate Research Sessions. Top presentations receive a special prize. And of course, there is free food.
