Exploring the Expanding Universe with the Dark Energy Survey
Exploring the Expanding Universe with the Dark Energy Survey
10:45 am – 11:21 amI will present cosmology results based on geometric probes of the Universe’s expansion history from the completed Dark Energy Survey (DES). This includes measurements of the Baryon Acoustic Oscillations feature in the survey’s full six years of galaxy clustering observations, as well as the full five-year Dark Energy Survey Supernova Program’s measurements of Type Ia supernovae. I will give an overview of both of these measurements and their cosmology implications in comparison and combination with other observables. We examine constraints on the parameters of ΛCDM as well as extensions including curvature, dynamical dark energy, and neutrino masses, finding evidence for deviations from the standard cosmological model in line with previous studies of the DES supernovae sample, especially when exploring dynamical dark energy models.
